S7 Airlines aimed to enhance its loyalty program and highlight the breadth of its network and Oneworld alliance destinations globally. The primary goal was to engage users internationally and boost frequent flyer memberships.

S7 Airlines launched "Catch-a-Plane," a unique smartphone application awarding users free airline miles each time an S7 or Oneworld alliance plane flew overhead. The app provided real-time alerts and encouraged social media sharing with bonus miles.

S7 Airlines launched "Catch-a-Plane," a unique smartphone application awarding users free airline miles each time an S7 or Oneworld alliance plane flew overhead. The app provided real-time alerts and encouraged social media sharing with bonus miles.

Operating continuously in the background, the app tracked flights worldwide. Users competed globally, with the top performers receiving free airline tickets. A total of five million miles were distributed, driving significant user interaction. Additionally, the app enabled users to engage in plane-spotting, exploring the geography of S7 Airlines flights and dreaming about their long-awaited vacations.

The campaign reinforced S7 Airlines' ability to engage with customers globally, significantly enhancing brand loyalty, user interaction, and international visibility through an innovative digital solution.


Results

All allocated 5 million miles were successfully collected.

S7 Airlines received 27,000 new frequent flyer subscriptions during the first two weeks.

Users shared information about S7’s prices and destinations every 30 seconds.

Increased global awareness of S7's extensive route network and competitive fares.

Achieved the number one ranking in the travel category on the Russian App Store.
